He is even able to kill the Thin Man, and frees a cursed Six from her twisted form by destroying the music box. Six is kidnapped by the Thin Man, separating them. They encounter enemies, such as the Teacher and the bullies, that Mono saves Six from, and flee from the main antagonist, the Thin Man. They travel together through different locations and flee the wilderness on a floating door to the Pale City. In doing this, they become close friends. Six initially tries to go by herself, but during their time together, they learn to trust each other. Once Mono helps Six to get into the attic when he caught up to her, the two learn to work together to survive the Wilderness, and later the Pale City. After Mono axed his way into the locked Six was kept in he offers his hand to her, but Six ends up pushing him aside before she dashes off. When he goes to rescue Six, Mono follows the sound of the music box she was playing in her prison as a form of comfort.
